A Registered apprenticeship is a proven training strategy that combines on-the-job training with related classroom instruction to prepare highly skilled workers for Canadian industry. Apprenticeship, by virtue of its success in preparing skilled workers, helps Canada compete more effectively in the global economy, and contributes to economic development and sustained economic growth.

Registered apprenticeship programs are operated by private industry, the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development.

An Apprenticeship Agreement is a signed commitment between the apprentice and the sponsor who is registered with the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development.

Training programs in Interior Finishing serve a diverse population including minorities, women, youth and others 16 years of age and older. Helps Canada compete more effectively in the global economy, and contributes to economic development and sustained economic growth.

Trade related experience is an asset with a general understanding of what the trade entails. Strong math and communication skills are essential.

In order to start school, apprentices must have the basic personal protective equipment (PPE) including a hard hat and safety boots (steel toe with green patch), tools will be on loan for use at the training facility. A detailed list of tools may be obtained through our Apprenticeship Office and will be necessary for on the job training. These items will cost approximately $500-600.

Members can conveniently attend health & safety training on weekday evenings, weekend days and weekdays. Contractors may choose to schedule their own training sessions, putting together a group of 20 or more members and arranging to bring the group to one of our training facilities.
